JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Scattered showers and storms are in the forecast once again. Activity will be most widespread this afternoon and evening. It will be warm and muggy with temperatures near 90 degrees.
Isolated instances of flooding will be possible. Especially for areas that see several rounds of showers and storms.
Tonight will be mostly cloudy and warm with temperatures in the 70s.
This weekend will feature a partly to mostly cloudy sky with highs near 90 degrees. Scattered showers and storms will develop in the afternoon and evening.
Make sure to keep an eye to the sky and storms could develop rapidly. Activity will eventually dissipate later in the evening.
A front will move across our area early next week. The wind will remain southerly, which will keep showers and storms in the forecast.
Slightly drier air will move by the middle of the week. This will lower our rain and storm coverage across our area.
Regarding the drought, the latest drought monitor reflects improvement across our area. Several areas have been downgraded to a moderate drought which reflects the rainfall we saw over the past week.
While we are still in a deficit, rainfall will once again lead to more improvement in the next outlook.
