It’s feeling like summer with back-to-back record highs and we’re still 9 days from the start of spring.
Another record high at JAX today. Temperatures reached 92 degrees; the previous record was 89 degrees, set in 1967. Temperatures will drop to near seasonal averages following the rain on Friday. The increasing onshore wind on Friday and Saturday will keep our coastal counties under a slight chance of a passing shower. Rain chances will increase through Sunday afternoon as scattered showers and thunderstorms develop to our south and push north across the area through early evening.
Rainfall models continue to average around 0.50 to 1.5 inches over the next 7 days. Some areas could see more, as slow-moving thunderstorms will be possible.
Scattered showers and areas of light rain will continue through early Monday before cooler temperatures return on Tuesday.

Thursday: Rain and thunderstorms, beneficial rain! Cloudy with rain chances becoming widespread through the afternoon and evening. Scattered showers will be possible through late evening. Morning lows in the 60s. Afternoon highs in the 70s to 80s. Rain chances 90-100 percent. Wind: SW 10-15 mph with stronger gusts.
Friday: Breezy and cooler with seasonal temperatures. Slight chance of showers, 10-20 percent. Lows in the 40s and 50s for SE GA, 50s for NE FL. Afternoon highs in the 70s to low 80s inland, 60s along the beaches. Wind: NE 10-20 mph.
Weekend: Warmer temperatures Saturday and Sunday with a slight chance of showers Saturday, with increasing chances on Sunday. Moring lows in the 50s and 60s. Afternoon highs in the 70s to low 80s. Wind NE 10-15 mph on Saturday, SE 10-15 mph on Sunday. Rain chances, 20 percent on Saturday, 60-70 percent on Sunday.
