From record highs to increasing rain chances.
We tied the record of 91 degrees, set in 1974. With warmer afternoon highs expected on Wednesday, we me set a new record. The record is 89, set in 1967. Not only did we tie a record today, it was also one of the earliest 90-degree days on record. The average first 90-degree day is usually in late April.
Temperatures will return to near seasonal averages on Friday. Clearing skies and seasonal temperatures are expected on Friday with increasing rain chances on Sunday.
Speaking of rain, the front moving through on Thursday will bring beneficial rain with models showing 0.50 to 1.0 inch averages. Some areas could see more, as slow-moving thunderstorms will be possible.
The front that arrives on Sunday and Monday will bring an increasing chance of showers with cooler temperatures early next week.
