Record-breaking highs are sticking around, but cooler weather’s coming for Thanksgiving

Sunday forecast

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Sunday’s highs in Northeast Florida and Southeast Georgia will continue to be above normal, with record highs still very much in play through Wednesday.

Record highs

This afternoon, a weak front will slide through, shifting winds from the northwest over to the northeast, but it’ll bring only a tiny chance of showers, not enough to make a dent in the ongoing drought. Overnight, inland fog remains a concern Monday morning, as well.

Thanksgiving forecast

Looking ahead to Thanksgiving Day, we’ll finally see a break from the heat with cooler temperatures and gusty winds under sunny skies. Highs will dip into the upper 60s in Southeast Georgia and hover in the lower 70s in Northeast Florida, thanks to a strong high-pressure system parked over the upper plains.
