Although the highly anticipated 3rd CME arrived around 2:15 p.m., the effect of the impact will be weak this far south.
According to NOAA here are the states that will see the shimmering lights.
Alaska, Idaho, Illinois, Iowa, Maine, Michigan, Minnesota, Montana, Nebraska, New Hampshire, New York, North Dakota, Oregon, South Dakota, Vermont, Wyoming, Washington, Wisconsin
After a nearly 40-degree temperature swing today, sunny skies and warmer temperatures are expected through the weekend. The wind will switch from the northwest to the northeast on Thursday and Friday with a westerly pattern developing this weekend. Breezy conditions expected Sunday with highs in the upper 70s to low 80s.
Tonight: Clear and cool with light wind.
Thursday: Clear and cool early with sunny skies and warmer afternoon highs. Wake up temperatures in the 40s and 50s. Sunny skies and afternoon highs in the upper 60s to low 70s. Wind: NNW 5 -10 mph. Clear skies and cool with light wind overnight.
