JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Hey, friends! I stepped outside this morning and felt a definite chill in the air. I even had to crank up my car for 20 minutes just to thaw out a bit—hope you found your coats too!
For Halloween, we are looking at downright perfect weather around Jacksonville and North Florida, if you like the fall vibe.
Early morning temps were in the 40s, like 46 at Jacksonville International and 51 in St. Augustine.
At the bus stop, you probably felt that nip at 48 in the early a.m. But by midafternoon, we’re warming up to a pleasant 68 degrees.
Trick-or-treating forecast? I couldn’t ask for a better one!
You can expect it to be crisp and clear, with no rain in sight tonight.
Light winds, temperatures falling from 65 at 6 p.m., down to 62 at 7 p.m., and drifting into the upper 50s by 8 p.m.
I always think about my own Halloween memories—walking into fake spiderwebs decorating my front door, trading (or maybe stealing) candy with my siblings...
Whatever your plans, the weather should let you soak up every moment safely and comfortably.
Fall temps sticking around
For those who are loving this taste of fall, you’re in luck. Our run of cooler, below-average temperatures is forecast to last through the weekend and into next week.
Highs across Jacksonville, the coast, and even up into Georgia are hovering in the low to mid 70s—perfect football weather if you’re headed out to Florida-Georgia.
At 3:30 p.m. on Saturday, game time temps should be around 71 degrees and sunny.
Expect the dry spell to continue for most of us, with only a slight chance for rain showing up on Monday (about 30 percent).
Winds are forecast to stay on the calm side, running a bit quieter than yesterday—no big concerns for your outdoor plans.

Hurricane Melissa update
I know folks are keeping an eye on the Atlantic, so here’s the latest on Hurricane Melissa.
As of the 5 a.m. advisory, Melissa is still a Category 1 storm sitting just ahead of Bermuda.
She’s picking up the pace, moving northeast at 41 mph with sustained winds at 90 mph.
While the storm did cause some major damage along its path—our thoughts are with anyone affected—there is no projected impact for Jacksonville or our surrounding area.
Melissa is heading away from the US coast, and we’re not expecting any direct effects here at home.
Share your spooky Halloween photos!
