Cloudy skies will move in tonight with rain expected this weekend. Rounds of rain will start during the late morning for southeast Georgia and afternoon for northeast Florida. Cold temperatures will move in late Sunday and early Monday. The biggest change comes Tuesday morning and again Tuesday night with the increasing chance of a wintery mix.
Monday morning could see patchy ice on roads following the weekend rain. The chance of snow, sleet and freezing rain will be brief Tuesday morning, mainly north of I-10, and then becoming more wide spread Tuesday night through Wednesday morning. Accumulation of snow and freezing rain will be possible.
Tonight: Becoming cloudy. Warmer overnight.
Saturday: Scattered showers and rounds of rain. There will be a slight chance of showers from midnight through around 6 am and then increasing chances late morning for SE GA and after noon for NE FL, 50-80 percent. Morning lows in the 40s to low 50s. Afternoon highs in the 60s to mid 70s. Rain continues overnight.
Sunday: The heaviest rain is expected after midnight and through around sunrise. Rain chance will average 80-90 percent. The front will move south during the afternoon, ushering in the arctic surge during the evening and overnight. Morning lows in the 50s to low 60s. Afternoon highs in the 60s.
Possible patches of ice early Monday morning. The increasing chance of a winter mix begins late Monday night through Tuesday morning. No accumulation is expected with this first round. The widespread chance of a wintery mix with accumulating snow, sleet and freezing rain begins Tuesday evening and continues through Wednesday morning.
