MIDDLEBURG, Fla. – A 50-year-old man died Wednesday morning after he was hit by a pick-up truck on Johns Cemetery Road in Middleburg, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
Troopers said the man stepped from the grass shoulder into the road near Horsetail Avenue around 6:15 a.m. and was hit by the truck, which was being driven by a 63-year-old man from Middleburg.

FHP said the impact caused the pedestrian to hit a mailbox before landing in a grass ditch.
The driver of the truck stopped at the scene.
Neither the driver nor his two male passengers -- ages 21 and 40 -- suffered any injuries, the report said. All three were wearing seat belts.
