The campaign includes the slogan, “3 beaches... 1 mission: Wipe out sexual assault” along with the Women’s Center’s 24-hour Rape Crisis Hotline: 904-721-7273.

The Cleveland Clinic is advising Americans against traveling for spring break, saying the coast is not yet clear. Spring break is just around the corner and many families are longing for a warm, sunny destination. Even though COVID-19 case numbers are trending down, that doesn’t mean it’s time to hit the road, just yet. AdEven if you’re vaccinated, travel is not recommended at this time. Whether you’re vaccinated or not, we still need to keep wearing the masks, stay socially distant, avoid the crowds and, for right now, try to minimize your travel,” Dr. Esper said.

Scott Lara is a travel agent, known as “the cruise genius,” and says his business is seeing the interest. “Even with COVID going on, more and more people are coming to Florida,” Lara said. Road trips are also great options for spring break and any travel this year.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Spring Break starts next week for many students, including those in Duval County. Visit Jacksonville told News4Jax it is looking forward to welcoming visitors to the River City. “Jacksonville’s not your typical Spring Break location. It’s more family trips and family-oriented than it is a bunch of college kids coming to town,” explained Michael Corrigan, president and CEO of Visit Jacksonville. “We anticipate a lot of people flocking to our beaches in the coming week.

ST. JOHNS COUNTY, Fla. After voting to push back the school start date three weeks, the St. Johns County School District had to adjust its school calendar for the 2020-2021 school year. The school board voted to approve a new calendar during a special meeting on Tuesday. St. Johns County School District revises the school calendar to push back the school start date to Aug. 31. The school board also approved unanimously an instructional continuity plan. The school board meeting began at 4 p.m. and was followed by another special school board meeting at 5:30 p.m. to discuss the adoption of a tentative budget.
