The tradition continues as runners of all ages will lace up their shoes and take to the streets for the 47th Annual Ortega River Run.

The Gate River Run is officially one month away! Each Friday in February, Alessandra Pontbriand and Julie Stackhouse will discuss different topics about preparing for the race that will air on News4JAX+ at 7 p.m.

As thousands of runners raced through downtown Jacksonville at the Gate River Run Saturday, another rewarding race happening at the same time had the crowd cheering: the Brooks Challenge Mile.

Around 14,000 runners participated in the 47th Gate River Run, and of course, our cameras were on the course and at the start and finish lines. Did we spot you among this year’s runners?

Runners are set to the annual 15K

It’s one of the biggest sporting events in Jacksonville all year.

Among the thousands who will run the Gate River Run, is a small group of 19 runners known as streakers who have run the race every year since it began.
