“Oh Say Can You Sing” is back.

Summer is approaching and that means it almost time for Oh Say Can You Sing. This year will be both bigger and more challenging than ever. We will again be practicing safe social distancing and have all auditions online.

Four talented singers competed Thursday night in the “Oh Say Can You Sing” finale at 1904 Music Hall, for a chance to sing the national anthem just before the fireworks display over the St. Johns River on the Fourth of July. At the end of the night, Karim Zabaneh was crowned the winner! In addition to singing the national anthem during Channel 4′s “Red, White and Boom” special, Zabaneh receives a $500 prize. Like most annual events and milestones that should have happened for the past few months, the 2020 “Oh Say Can You Sing” contest was affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. Unlike previous years, open audition calls that usually created long lines at local malls and gathering places had to be moved online.

The Jacksonville girl belted out all the notes to Alicia Keys' "Girl on Fire" she needed to win over the competitions judges and audience alike to claim the $500 grand prize and the opportunity of a lifetime. "I don't forget the words," said Amara, who noted that she's not at all nervous about the opportunity.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Ninety talented people on Tuesday auditioned for "Oh Say Can You Sing," Channel 4's annual singing competition.
