Students from Liberty Pines Academy in St. Johns County recently returned from a memorable trip to Washington D.C. The experience was filled with first-time experiences for many which included something Floridians rarely encounter—snow.

The fifth graders at Liberty Pines Academy are on their second week of the eight-week pilot program.

The St. Johns County School District unveiled a new rezoning plan Tuesday morning to address overcrowding in schools in the northern part of the county.

ST. JOHNS COUNTY, Fla. Thousands of students are enrolled in online learning in the St. Johns County School district but most of them are heading back in the building for the first day of school. News4Jax visited Valley Ridge and Liberty Pines Academy last week, as teachers prepared for today. Classrooms have been rearranged for social distancing and where social distancing isnt possible, desk shields were installed. There is also will be a limit on the number of students per classroom and masks will be provided if a student doesnt have one or loses theirs.
