The lack of rain continues to take its toll across the region, and dry conditions are now expanding eastward.

A foggy start then mostly cloudy to partly sunny skies with near seasonal temperatures.  Mist and drizzle this morning will lead to a mainly dry afternoon with a slight chance of showers along our southern zones and near and along I-75.  Becoming partly cloudy tonight with patchy fog inland.  Warmer afternoon highs through the week.

Sunny and warmer this afternoon. First, we have to deal with some patchy fog. Temperatures will be above normal today under sunny skies with a light northeasterly breeze. Clouds increase late tonight as a cold front pushes through the area Wednesday.

Coastal county showers, near and along I95, will be possible around noon as the sea breeze moves inland.  These will continue to push inland with the highest chances and most coverage between I-75 and Highway 301.  Some storms could become strong to isolated severe through sunset.

Four children, including an infant, and an adult were seriously injured Monday afternoon in a single-vehicle crash on Interstate 75 in Alachua County, the Florida Highway Patrol said.

Most of the rain is over for Jacksonville this evening. However, we are watching two bands that will continue in parts of the southern counties from Putnam to St. Johns late this afternoon and rain should last later into the evening across Georgia. The storms in Georgia could become briefly strong with gusty winds and heavy rain through 7 pm. The rain will move east out into the Atlantic while missing most of Duval tonight.
