A group of local residents and environmental activists are raising concerns about high mast lights at exit 42 in Brunswick, saying they could be harmful to sea turtles.

The Georgia Department of Transportation asked for the public’s patience as crews continued to treat and plow roads across the state Wednesday morning after the winter storm that brought snow and ice to the area.

Strong winds knocked out power for hundreds in Northeast Florida on Sunday while Georgians were warned against nonessential travel due to the potential for icy conditions.
