Across the country this Thanksgiving weekend, thousands of football players will be taking the field. But as they strap on their helmets, concerns continue to grow about concussions and brain health.

The largest study to date of CTE shows number of concussion does not completely correlate to likelihood of CTE diagnosis. In fact, the number of hits to the head is a better predictor.

As many as 3.8 million sports-related concussions occur every year. A concussion is a brain injury caused by a blow or bump to the head. There’s lots of research that looks into which sports are more prone to concussions or how concussions differ among genders. But what about between races?
