BRADFORD COUNTY, Fla. - Three people were arrested following a home invasion robbery and a shooting Wednesday morning near Lawtey, the Bradford County Sheriff's Office said. While deputies were still investigating the home invasion robbery, the Sheriff's Office said it received a call about 8:20 a.m. regarding a shooting on Northwest County Road 200A, just south of Lawtey city limits. Due to the proximity of the shooting, Lawtey Elementary School was temporarily placed under a "shelter-in-place," with extra deputies on the campus. BRADFORD COUNTY, Fla. - The Bradford County Sheriff's Office is asking for help tracking down a suspect in an arson case. Deputies said that on July 7, they were called to a suspected arson on Southeast 109th Street outside Hampton. The Florida Bureau of Fire, Arson, and Explosives Investigations was called in and took over as the lead investigating agency. State investigators later obtained photos of the suspect and asked for help from BCSO to ID the person in the photos. STARKE, Fla. - A man, a woman and her 16-year-old son were killed early Tuesday morning in a head-on collision near Starke, according to the Bradford County Sheriff's Office. Deputies said a full-size pickup truck going the wrong way on State Road 100 at Southeast 109th Street just before dawn ran into a small car. Driver Laura Wilbert, 35, and her son, Christian Okrasinski, 16, both of Starke, were also killed, troopers said. The truck went airborne, flipped over and landed right where you're at right now," said a witness who didn't want his name used. All that's left behind is a bent street sign marking the intersection and deep tire tracks in the grass.

BRADFORD COUNTY, Fla. – The driver of an SUV was able to get out of the vehicle before it was struck by a train Thursday night, the Bradford County Sheriff's Office said. It happened at the railroad tracks crossing U.S. 301 at South Walnut Street. According to the Sheriff's Office, the SUV driver turned onto the tracks, accidentally thinking it was a side road, as a train was about to cross U.S. 301. Deputies said the driver was able to exit the SUV, but the train collided with it. As of 11:20 p.m., the train was still stopped on the tracks, causing a traffic detour on northbound and southbound U.S. 301.

STARKE, Fla. – A Starke Police Department supervisor resigned Wednesday after he was charged with domestic battery and aggravated assault last week. Robert Todd Jordan, 37, is accused of attacking his girlfriend and pulling a gun on her during an argument while multiple children were in the home, police said. The Bradford County Sheriff's Office is investigating the incident because the Starke Police Department doesn't investigate cases involving its own officers. According to deputies, when they arrived at the home, Anthony Lee Hodges, 39, came out of the shed firing shots at them from a rifle. Deputies retreated behind a school bus that was on the property because a woman who lives at the home is a bus driver and is able to take the vehicle home. Hodges continued firing shots and deputies returned fire, hitting Hodges, according to the Sheriff's Office. "My mother was a bus driver for 40 years. One of the ladies who lives here is a bus driver.
