The number of Americans seeking jobless benefits rose modestly last week, a sign that employers are still retaining workers even as the economy has showed signs of slowing.

Disaster Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program also known as D-SNAP will provide food assistance to Floridians in select counties, News4JAX sister station WKMG-TV reported Saturday.

Several local veterans have reached out to News4JAX about delays in receiving their benefits upon retirement… leaving them in limbo. They say the issue lies with a backlog of paperwork.

Brooke Stanton said she has heard the message hundreds, if not thousands, of times. "We tell people dont call 108 times, Satter said. Yesterday we had a million phone calls," Satter said. Weve had 15 million phone calls since March 15. But it is of little consolation to the thousands, like Stanton, who are still waiting for help.
