Duval County Schools are once again considering consolidating schools, this time focusing on Mayport Elementary and Anchor Academy as part of an effort to optimize its resources.

A state representative is demanding the resignation of a Duval County School Board member after a controversial comment on a social media post that targeted people with liberal politics, who were accused of spreading hate. The post, shared by a page called “LibsofDuval,” featured a Duval County parent speaking during public comment at this week’s school board meeting. The page also called out other Jacksonville leaders with liberal views.
