A woman canoeing with her husband Tuesday afternoon at Lake Kissimmee State Park was attacked and killed by an alligator, according to officials, News4JAX’s sister station WKMG in Orlando reported.

The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office released video showing Officers Kopp and Johnson removing a small alligator from the 104-year-old woman's home near Atlantic Boulevard and Art Museum Drive.

Alligator safety is the focus of a statewide meeting being held this week in Jacksonville.
