Caroline Brown is the midday meteorologist at KPRC 2, forecasting for the noon, 3 p.m. and 4 p.m. newscasts.
Caroline is a proud sixth generation Texan and was born and raised in Houston. She grew up in Tanglewood and actually loves the humid subtropical climate. She says, "When it feels muggy, it’s just Houston’s atmosphere giving us all a warm hug." Caroline is a natural optimist and finds joy in all things nature.
From the young age of four, she knew weather was her passion; her lifelong dream job has always been to be a meteorologist in her hometown, Houston. Caroline graduated from the University of Oklahoma with a major in meteorology and minors in mathematics and journalism. College football is the thing to do in Norman in the fall, but Caroline also loved the spring when she could go storm chasing. Her senior year research project was on the synoptic atmospheric setup that led to the devastating flooding during Hurricane Harvey.
Caroline was a weather intern at KPRC 2 in 2017, but she became a full-time team member in 2021. Prior to working at KPRC 2, Caroline worked for ABC in Tulsa covering numerous tornado outbreaks and devastating floods. After leaving Tulsa, Caroline worked in Denver for a national network where she was able to cover weather across the entire United States. During this time, she covered everything from wildfires, blizzards, more than a dozen hurricanes and even a volcano eruption.
In her free time, Caroline loves to head out to Washington County where her family operates a cattle ranch. Caroline and her husband Jack live in town with their two doodles Rainy and Stormy. They love all Houston sports teams but especially the Texans. Caroline and Jack are excited to welcome a baby boy in February of 2025 (7th generation Texan!).
