JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The Jaguars are right where they wanted to be. Playing meaningful games in December. After beating the Titans on Sunday, the Jaguars are set up for a huge showdown with the Colts on Sunday.

Showing everyone “we do have talent”

Liam Coen said “there’s a lot of guys that have been here … attempting to change the narrative and to create our own and show that, hey, man, we do have talent.”

It is that sort of chip on their shoulder that has served the Jaguars well this season. Coen pointed to the collaboration between players and coaches as being part of what has helped the Jaguars catch fire late in the season.

“I think our process throughout the weeks, our leadership … the collaboration between players and coaches being on the same page … has maybe led to some of the connection and belief we’ve had through tough times,” said Coen.

Tone setter

If you need a snapshot of the Jaguars’ identity shift, look no further than LeQuint Allen Jr.’s forced fumble and recovery on special teams, a play Coen called “fantastic”.

Coen said, “He exemplifies so much of what being a Jaguar is. The guy loves football … he’ll do anything for these guys.”

Trevor turning the corner?

The Jaguars passing game popped against the Titans. Trevor Lawrence posted one of his most efficient halves of the season while attacking the Titans between the numbers but Coen emphasized that it wasn’t some epiphany or new philosophy.

It was just smart football.

Lawrence went 6 of 9 for 125 yards on throws 15 or more yards downfield in the first half, helping Jacksonville build its cushion.

Was it his best game of the year?

Coen hesitated.

“I’d have to look at it … But what stood out was ball security. We were more explosive and efficient in the first half. And I thought he did a nice job managing the game.”

Heavyweight matchup: “It’s very big for us”

Next week isn’t just another AFC South game. It’s 8–4 vs. 8–4. It’s a collision between two teams chasing the division and playoff positioning.

“It is very big for us,” Hamilton said. “Obviously, they’re a very good team this year. We are a very good team this year. I think it’s just going to come down to us playing confident, playing the way we know how to play and finishing the game.”

Jacksonville enters the week riding momentum; Indianapolis enters having lost there last two games. The stakes couldn’t be clearer: control of the AFC South.
