That game was a roller coaster.
Four turnovers. A bunch of missed opportunities. But a win is a win.

Now the Jags have seven wins, and with a Colts loss on Sunday to the Chiefs, the target should be winning the AFC South. It’s doable.
But it’s not doable if they don’t take better care of the football. Four turnovers can’t happen, even if two of them were kind of flukish.
I know there are going to be a ton of pitchforks coming for Trevor Lawrence after this game, but let me start by saying I don’t think it was quite as bad as the stat line reads. A fumble early from a missed blitz pickup. A tipped pass and an incredible play by Budda Baker, like hats off to that guy for baiting that throw. Those sound like excuses, but that is life. There are NFL guys on the other side of the field, too.
Were they still mistakes? Oh yes, without a doubt. But did Lawrence make the plays when it mattered? Yes. At this point, everyone has to take the good with the bad. After that last interception, there was no doubt in my mind that Lawrence would turn around and make an amazing throw.
Because that is who he is. And that is what he did. He will make a throw that makes you pull your hair out. Then, a few plays later, make a throw that makes you run around screaming. It truly is the Trevor Lawrence. It’s balanced. That’s why there are so many Lawrence truthers and so many people ready to show him the door. The highs are high and the lows are low. But here is the thing that should swing people into Lawrence corner. Think about the highs, almost all of them come late in football games when a play has to be made. He was a reason they had their backs against the wall, but he is always a big reason they come out swinging. Right now, they are fighting and winning.
And that is the name of the game.
I’d rather a quarterback who rises to the moment than a guy who would fold up in the clutch. But maybe that’s just me.
But either way, this is a 7-4 football team. This is just the eighth time in franchise history they have had a 7-4 record or better. So enjoy it. Take a deep breath. Enjoy the ride.
