JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The Ponte Vedra girls and Nease boys continued their swimming dominance, both winning the Class 3A state championship.
The Sharks racked up 378 points to win the team title easily over runner-up St. Petersburg (305). The Panthers had 215 points to tie for the team title with Tampa Jesuit.

The Ponte Vedra girls won the 200 medley relay, finished runner-up in the 200 free relay and third in the 400 free relay.
Juliana Cavalcanti won the 200 IM (2:02.03), and Sophie Fox had a runner-up in the 100 fly (55.03) and fourth in the 50 free.
Nease’s Anna Driesse was the other individual champ in 3A, taking the 100 breast in 1:05.18.
Individually, Nease’s Luke Zardavets had a strong state meet with a win in the 100 breast (55.12) and a runner-up in the 100 fly (48.45). He also swam the third leg on the fourth-place 200 free relay team, and the anchor leg on the fifth-place 400 free relay team.
Swimmers from Clay County had a solid meet. Fleming Island’s William Shoesmith won the 500 free (4:25.41) and Clay’s Noah Stotler won the 200 free (1:36.74). The Fletcher boys took state runner-up in the 400 free relay.
