JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – What a difference a week can make.
The team said they were “pissed” after last week. Well, how can they play pissed every week?

That team that showed up against the Chargers. Now that team can still win the AFC South. But that team has to show up each and every week from here on out.
The Jags aren’t perfect. But for the first time this year, there were no offensive penalties. That is controlling the controllables and not shooting themselves in the foot. Was there still a bad throw by Trevor Lawrence that was intercepted? Yes, but they overcame that by playing complementary football and running the ball with authority.
The Jaguars might have themselves a star in Bhayshul Tuten. Since the trade deadline, I have seen people question general manager James Gladstone for some of his offseason moves.
Well, what’s the question now? Tuten had his best game as a pro and two undrafted free agents (Danny Striggow and BJ Green) both made an impact on the defensive line. Young players stepped up for the Jaguars. And they will have to continue to step up because the Jaguars’ injury list is still extremely long and only getting longer. Travon Walker and Greg Newsome both left the game banged up. But the flip side of that is Brenton Strange, and hopefully Jourdan Lewis and Brian Thomas Jr. should be ready to return soon.
With the postseason dreams renewed for at least the week, the Chargers game is definitely reminiscent of 2022. Not the playoff game, but the early season matchup with the Chargers. But maybe this team can channel some of that same late-season magic they had in ’22. That year, there was a tough loss in early November that sparked the run. Maybe in 2025, history can repeat itself.
