It was a close one last week but a win is a win, and that is all the Jaguars needed. The Jags are now 5-3 with a chance to knock the Texans out of the race for the AFC South and that is exactly what they need to do. Jacksonville is banged up and will be missing some key players but they also will have newly added wide receiver Jakobi Meyers. I think the Jaguars know the winning formula and it’s what has been working all year, running the ball and getting turnovers. If they can do that and take some pressure off Trevor Lawrence, they can control this game and come away with a win. Give me the Jags getting the W in Houston.— Jaguars 31, Houston 23.

Jacksonville got a big road win in OT last week and started the post-bye stretch with a gritty win. They really should wallop a Texans team that will be starting Davis Mills at quarterback and is struggling to stay in the AFC South race. Jaguars sweep the season series and pick up a big sixth win for Liam Coen. — Jaguars 23, Raiders 17.

I bet the Jaguars beat the Texans and sweep the season series Sunday. It will be a physically competitive game that the Jags will dominate. Jakobi Meyers arrived in town Wednesday, but will have a role in Sunday’s game, which is also on his birthday. Quarterback CJ Stroud is out and backup Davis Mills will start. I bet Josh Hines-Allen has a big game and breaks the franchise sack record in Houston.— Jaguars 21, Texans 10.

Run me the Jags this week. Literally run me the Jags. This is going to be a big for the ground game. The Jags had 75 rushing yards in the second half of the first matchup, with 46 of those coming in the fourth quarter. I expect them to pick up right where they left off. So run me those Travis Etienne and Bhayshul Tuten props this week, with a little buyers high of Jakobi Meyers leading the team in receiving yards. — Jaguars 24, Texans 17.
