Pride-Daniels are the co-founders of II Dope Chics, II Dope Chics Who Give a Care, Inc., and their partners for this event include VyStar Credit Union, and Boys & Girls Clubs of Northeast Florida.
In addition to handing out toys, the event will have a bounce house, food truck, face painting and holiday pictures.
And organizers said this is being done to help lift community spirits.
“We’re living in a difficult time, there’s a lot going on in our country and families are looking for relief and a little bit of joy,” Millicent Pride-Daniels said.
“For some families and for some kids this is going to be the only Christmas that they probably get a chance to experience. So, we want to be apart of that,” Shawnta Pride-Daniels said added. “Just to make sure families can have some relief.”
The event is Sunday from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. at Rutledge H. Pearson Elementary School.
They said though all gifts are accounted for, when people don’t show up to accept those gifts, they still have to be given away because they don’t want to go home with anything.
