Farah & Farah to donate $10K to Five-Star Veterans Center

Proceeds from Riflemen’s Red Beer at Veterans United Craft Brewery on Western Way will go to Five-Star

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – A $10,000 donation from the law firm Farah & Farah will help feed veterans at Five-Star Veterans Center, one of the largest veterans services centers in the region, center officials said.

The contribution was announced on Wednesday and will underwrite roughly two months of meals for veterans staying at the center, John Bear, CEO of Five-Star Veterans Center, said. The center provides three meals a day for residents and spends about $5,000 a month on food.

“It helps our organization pay for food for our veterans that we have,” Bear said. “So Farah & Farah’s generous donation affords us two months of food in order to keep feeding our veterans.”

Farah & Farah has supported the center for several years, Jonathon Carter, a representative of the firm, said.

“We’ve been working with Five-Star Veterans Center for the last seven years,” Carter said. “Times right now are especially tough for veterans, so it’s important for us to give back.”

In addition to the donation, Veterans United Craft Brewery on Western Way is selling Riflemen’s Red beer with proceeds going to Five-Star Veterans Center, officials said.
