The rumors began circulating on the Internet after three women were found dead in the city within three days.
The first incident was reported on Monday morning when a woman was found dead on Saturday in the parking lot of a business on Sunbeam Road.
The woman’s sister later identified her as 24-year-old Cherrish Nunley, a mother of two.
JSO said that not a lot of information has been made available in Nunley’s case after she was found unresponsive in a parking lot that serves several businesses in the area, including a fitness center and several car-related businesses.
Then, later on Monday, it was reported that a woman was found dead under a bridge on Blanding Boulevard on Sunday evening. Family members later identified her as Tiffany Felton.
The circumstances surrounding Felton’s death are still under investigation, but police are considering it a homicide. They did not share whether she had any visible injuries.
Finally, on Monday afternoon, JSO held a news conference announcing that a woman was found dead inside a home in the Phoenix neighborhood.
In the latest update, JSO said the investigation remains active, and the circumstances surrounding the death are undetermined.
Anyone with information on any of these incidents is encouraged to call 904-630-0500 or contact First Coast Crimestoppers at 866-845-TIPS.
