JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – A Halloween staple is finding a way to continue this weekend.
Haunt Nights at Adventure Landing abruptly ended when the waterpark closed on short notice earlier this month. The closure left cast members heartbroken.
But now, the popular scare attraction will have a new home in Riverside, at least for this weekend.
Danielle, the casting director for Haunt Nights, explained how the Greenlight Theatre Company loaned them their space for three days.
“We have partnered up with them; they are helping us out a lot, and we’re able to have a haunted house open,” she said.
She shared what it means to be able to continue Haunts Nights on their own.
“Everybody has been really, really thrilled to be able to come back and be able to do this and not have had to end on such a sad note,” she explained. “Obviously we got our start with Adventure Landing and we are eternally grateful for them to bring us all together, but now we get to go out on our own and now we get to have more amazing experiences.”
The haunted house is now located at 2650 Park St. in Riverside.
It runs on Halloween and Nov. 1 from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. You can buy tickets at the door or online with the Greenlight Theatre Company.
The proceeds from this year will help fund next year’s event.
“We are completely and entirely local. We have been here longer than anybody else. So we’re gonna keep going,” Danielle said.
