Surfers like Alex Harvey are anticipating strong winds and waves from the active Atlantic Ocean. He started surfing before sunrise Friday.
Ironically, there’s a surfer’s event happening along the coast. They are aware that bigger waves are coming this weekend.
On Friday, the waves are approximately 2-3 feet. By Monday, they could be closer to 4-7 feet.
“As a surfer this is kind of as good as it’s going to get for this area when it comes to the ocean. It’s pretty much unless you have a big storm,” Harvey said.
He said all the surfers are in a big group chat about the storms, the waves and the weather.

Flagler County and south along the coast, emergency management is monitoring the situation, knowing that erosion could occur.
Ferandina Beach officials said Nassau County is currently at the lowest level, Activation Level 3. Invest 94L continues to be monitored closely as coastal rain and surf impacts are expected.
