Flagler County jury takes just 11 minutes to convict man of raping child

FLAGLER COUNTY, Fla. – A 27-year-old man was convicted Wednesday of child sex charges in Flagler County.
The jury deliberated for just 11 minutes after a two-day trial and found Daniel Rodriguez guilty of sexual battery on a person younger than 12, lewd/lascivious molestation on a person younger than 12 and 3 counts of lewd or lascivious battery sex act on a person between 12 and 16 years old.
Rodriguez faces a mandatory life sentence.
“The defendant will spend the remainder of his life in the Florida State Prison System,” State Attorney R.J. Larizza said about the case. “He deserves nothing less!”
The case was investigated by the Flagler County Sheriff’s Office.
Assistant State Attorney Melissa Clark successfully tried the case for the state. The Honorable Dawn Nichols presided over the case and will officially sentence Rodriguez at a later date.
