From meals to medical care and more: Northeast Florida AIDS Network offers support for those living with HIV/AIDS

NFAN’s lasting legacy is commitment to health, advocacy for clients in Duval, Clay, St. Johns, Nassau

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – News4JAX is celebrating Pride Month all through June by highlighting the local organizations that support our unique and vibrant LGBTQ+ community.

Established in 1980, the Northeast Florida AIDS Network, also known as NFAN (N-Fan), is the longest-standing AIDS service organization in Northeast Florida and serves clients in Duval, Clay, Nassau and St. Johns counties.

NFAN’s goals are to prevent the spread of HIV and to care and advocate for individuals living with HIV and AIDS, and their families.

Among its efforts in 2024, NFAN provided 15,388 meals to 595 individuals, assisted 491 families with housing, provided 570 clients with medical case management, and helped 137 people with 1,259 months of health insurance premiums.

The organization also offers education, support groups, counseling, a positive nutrition program, internships, volunteer opportunities, a food pantry and more.

NFAN says its mission is to provide compassionate leadership, services, and advocacy in meeting the prevention, health, spiritual, and social needs of individuals, families and communities.

From 2-6 p.m. Sunday, a Tea Dance Pride Party at Birdies will benefit NFAN.
