The Pride Community Center of North Central Florida is based in Gainesville and serves 13 local counties, including Alachua, Bradford, Clay, Columbia, Putnam and Union.
Its work includes advocacy, arts, education, health and wellness, and social support.
Among its many services, PCCNCF offers safe spaces for LGBTQ+ groups, hosts a youth group and provides meals and household supplies for people living with HIV/AIDS.
The Center’s work through the years has included successfully advocating for LGBTQ+ protections in the Alachua County Human Rights Ordinance.
It has also raised funds for three rainbow crosswalks in downtown Gainesville and organizes the annual Gainesville Pride Festival and Parade. This year, the events will be on Nov. 1.
