JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – News4JAX is celebrating Pride Month this June by shining a spotlight on the local organizations that serve our unique and vibrant LGBTQIA+ community.
Founded in 2021 by The Avenue of Rainbows, Inc., COLORS Resource Center offers advocacy and social services to create safe spaces and foster connections for the LGBTQIA+ community in Northeast Florida and beyond.

To create a safe and affirming space for LGBTQIA+ and allied adults, COLORS focuses on three areas: Social equity, health promotion and personal growth.
Among its many programs to promote social equity, COLORS hosts a Queer Market three times a month. The market is an inclusive space to celebrate LGBTQIA+ artists, makers and small businesses.
COLORS says the market offers a a platform for queer entrepreneurs to showcase their work, connect with the community and thrive in a supportive environment.
On the first and third Saturday of the month, the Queer Market is hosted by Dart Bar and Keg & Coin from 5-11 p.m. at 1261 King St.
On the second Sunday of every month, it’s at Hamburger Mary’s JAX from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. at 947 Edgewood Ave. S.

Makers and entrepreneurs interested in joining the market can apply for a spot at www.colorsjax.org/queer-market.
Along with the market, COLORS offers a legal clinic, notary services, a Christmas Toy Drive and more to promote social equity.
COLORS also encourages personal growth with book workshops, job coaching, GED classes, game nights, BINGO and the COLORS Café.
And the organization promotes health through support groups ranging from veterans and grief support to anger management and HIV support.

COLORS also hosts a Community Resource Fair twice a month, where nonprofit organizations come together to share vital resources with the LGBTQIA+ and broader Jacksonville community.
The resource fair is held the first and third Tuesday of every month from 5-7:30 p.m. at 1261 King St. To secure a spot, email info@colorsjax.org.
Unfortunately, decreased funding and increased costs forced COLORS to close its physical location in March. Now, the organization uses Discord for virtual events.
But it’s hoping to raise $150,000 to open a Resource Center in 2026.
