JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Good morning, Jacksonville! If you’ve looked outside lately, you know we’re waking up under another beautifully clear sky. But there’s something important I want you to keep in mind—our dry spell is holding strong, and The Weather Authority is keeping a close eye on it.
The National Weather Service has officially placed our area under drought conditions. We’ve missed out on rain, and there’s no significant moisture in the forecast right now. That means it’s the perfect time to check on your water use—please be mindful with sprinklers and skip the backyard fire pit, even if the weather feels just right. With how dry it is, even a small flame could get out of hand quickly.
Warming up above normal
If you’ve noticed mornings in the 40s (like we’ve seen in Macclenny and Jacksonville), that’s about to change. Temperatures are rebounding, and we’re heading toward a much warmer stretch. Our typical high around this time is about 74 degrees, but we’re looking at temperatures trending well above that heading into the weekend.
The 7-day Exact Track 4D forecast shows afternoon highs climbing up to the upper 70s by Saturday, then right into the low 80s for Sunday and early next week. That’s a big shift from the cool start to the week!
Sunny weekend and outdoor safety
Planning to get outside? You’ll have plenty of sunshine to enjoy! It’s going to be a fantastic weekend for the beach, a walk with your dog, or just being out in the fresh air. But don’t forget the sunscreen—those UV rays will be strong.
A quick heads-up: If you’re driving early, especially near Starke, be aware of very patchy fog. At times, visibility can go down to zero, so switch to those low-beam headlights and give yourself extra time.
The forecast looks steady with clear skies, delightful afternoons, and comfortable evenings. Let me know if you have special plans, and I’ll help with a personalized forecast. And if you’re out and about capturing great weather shots, share them with us at SnapJAX—we’d love to see your sunny snapshots!
