JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The majority of our region will be under a Heat Advisory from noon to 6 p.m. today, as temperatures are expected to soar into the upper 90s. Expect the feel-like temperatures to be between 108°F and 111°F during those peak hours. Little to no rain won’t provide any relief today.
Once the sun sets, temperatures will drop into the upper 80s before settling in the mid-70s.
Sunday’s forecast is just as hot! Relief from the high heat and dry conditions will roll back into the forecast by Tuesday.
Watching the tropics: Hurricane season awareness
The National Hurricane Center is watching a wave far out in the Atlantic, moving west-northwest at about 10 mph. The wave currently shows only a 10 to 20 percent chance of development, and conditions don’t appear favorable for significant intensification at this time. There are no immediate concerns for the Jacksonville area, but The Weather Authority will continue to provide updates throughout hurricane season.
