Afternoon storms linger into the evening

Storms and pockets of heavy rain have been slowly moving, adding up to spots of heavy rain this afternoon. Rain will continue into the early evening before decreasing after sunset. Showers will still be possible overnight due to the remnants of Tropical Depression Nicholas over the Panhandle and Alabama.

This moisture will stick around tomorrow keeping our rain chances high Friday with afternoon storms and mostly cloudy skies. In fact, wet conditions will develop each afternoon through the weekend. As temperatures reach the mid to upper 80s.

A weak low pressure developing east of the Carolina coast will gradually organize as it moves northward on Friday and then northeastward off the New England coast this weekend.
