JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Three women and a 17-year-old girl were shot on Wednesday evening after a large group of people met up at a Northwest Jacksonville location to fight each other over a “romantic relationship” that some of the individuals were involved in, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office.
JSO said the three women and the teen who were shot were each hit “at least once,” and are in stable condition with non-life-threatening wounds after being taken to the hospital by medical personnel.
Police said three men, who were last seen wearing dark clothing and medical masks, have been identified as persons of interest. They were last seen leaving the area of the incident, near the intersection of Begonia Road and Wisteria Street, in a silver SUV after the gunshots rang out.
The three women are aged 20, 22, and 47, police said.
JSO said that when initial calls came in for the incident around 6 p.m., it was believed that there were at least 15 people at the scene when shots were heard.
The agency added that they believe there is no threat to the public at this time and that the shooting was an isolated incident.
JSO also said that it would like to bring the three men believed to be connected to the incident in for questioning, and asks anyone with more information to contact their office at 904-630-0500.
