JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Two people are facing criminal charges following a police raid on a home in Jacksonville’s Murray Hill neighborhood on Wednesday morning.
The raid took place at a residence on Wycoff Avenue near Kingsbury Street. The heavy police presence, including heavily armed officers, alarmed neighbors who quickly turned to social media seeking answers.
Jacksonville police identified the two charged individuals as 48-year-old Allen McPherson and 42-year-old Justin McPherson.
Allen faces drug charges, while Justin is accused of being a convicted felon in possession of a firearm.
During the raid, officers seized seven cell phones, a handgun reported stolen, marijuana, methamphetamines, and drug paraphernalia.
Neighbors expressed surprise over the police action and said they were not informed about the reason for the block shutdown.
Police typically prepare for worst-case scenarios when executing search warrants for illegal drugs or conducting high-risk felony takedowns, which explains the strong law enforcement presence.
The investigation remains ongoing as authorities continue to process the evidence and charges.
