Looking for weekend plans? Iconic PorchFest set to bring free live music, food and family-friendly fun to Springfield

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Springfield will be moving and grooving Saturday afternoon.

The iconic PorchFest is back this weekend in the historic neighborhood, where dozens of porches will be ringing with music.

The free community event kicks off Saturday at noon and wraps up at 8 p.m., and will feature food trucks, art vendors, craft beer, live music and more.

The festival is mainly in the southeast quadrant of the neighborhood, but here are a couple of options to get there:

  • Bethel Church: grass lots off 1st Street and Rudolph McKissick Blvd available all day; Main Lot available after 1 PM (215 Bethel Baptist Street)
  • Florida Department of Health (1214 N Pearl Street)
  • FSCJ Downtown Campus (101 W State Street)
  • UF Health Parking Lot J (UF Health lot between 9th and 10th, Perry and Boulevard)

A shuttle service is also available between Bethel Church and FSCJ to the SW corner of the festival. People also have the option of bike valet services on E 3rd Street.

The city has been doing street sweeping to get the neighborhood ready. But if anybody is interested, there’s a community cleanup going on this Friday morning from 9 to 11 a.m.

They’ll be meeting at The Cove Social Club here on Market Street, supplies will be provided, and anyone is welcome to participate.

Keep in mind, the festival is happening in the southeast quadrant of Springfield, so it’s good to plan ahead.
