JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The Jacksonville Armada will return to Edward Waters University to host its soccer matches after two games were abruptly relocated last Friday.

A statement from the team released on Thursday said that the Armada and the university arranged a “new path forward” that included hosting Saturday’s game on EWU’s campus.

“For the past three years, we have been honored that EWU has graciously agreed to host Armada matches on its beautiful campus and we are excited to count EWU as a partner as we complete this regular season and pursue our playoff goals,” the statement said.

Just last week, the team said EWU President Dr. A. Zachary Faison Jr. decided to cancel all vendor and event contracts, forcing the team to relocate to Patton Park.

EWU said the move was due to an administrative facilities management challenge.

In the recent statement, the team said the ongoing agreement includes no alcohol sales or consumption on campus during the games.

“We fully respect and support these policies and ask all our fans and guests to do the same as we create a positive, family-friendly environment at all matches,” the team said.

The next game is Saturday, June 14 at 7 p.m.
