JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – There are dozens of places where people can get barbecue in Jacksonville, but if you ask residents, they’ll tell you there’s no better spot to get it than The Bearded Pig.
That’s right, the people of Jacksonville have spoken and have chosen The Bearded Pig as the best BBQ restaurant in the area in our 2025 JaxBest contest, beating out fellow finalists:

All four were nominated by our News4JAX Insiders, who then picked their favorite from the Top 4 to crown the best BBQ spot in the 904.
The Bearded Pig was founded in 2016 by Chad Munsey and Michael Schmidt in the heart of San Marco.
Their website says it best: “Our goal is simple: to serve the best BBQ - period.”
And Jacksonville residents seem to agree!
The Bearded Pig draws on influences from Texas, while “not forgetting to pay homage to the Carolinas, where pork rules.” In addition, this restaurant has five original sauces and delicious sides that add the perfect flavor to every bite.
The Bearded Pig is located at 1808 Kings Ave. in Jacksonville. It is open Tuesday to Sunday from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m.
