JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Co-stars, friends and fans are pouring out condolences and tributes after the unexpected death of Bob Saget on Sunday.
The Orange County Sheriff’s Office broke the news to the world that the 65-year-old actor, known as America’s Dad, was found unresponsive in his Ritz-Carlton hotel room Sunday after 4 p.m. Foul play nor drug-use is immediately suspected in the manner of death. The medical examiner will determine the official cause.

Closer to home, here in the River City, News4JAX Anchor Bruce Hamilton knew Saget before his rise to fame as they attended Temple University in Philadelphia and became friends in the 1970s. Hamilton spoke to Saget on The Morning Show just days before his passing.
“During the last conversation I had with him, we were trying to get together but couldn’t because it was my daughter’s birthday. He told me ‘Hey I’m coming back to Florida soon. Let’s get together then.’ Now-- that will never happen. But I’m just so glad we had that time together (on Monday),” Hamilton said.
Saget was gearing up to perform a comedy show at Ponte Vedra Hall, a show that would become his last ever public appearance. The actor tweeted an early morning thank you to the Jacksonville crowd who came to see him.

Thousands more echoed the sentiments, writing comments like “so sad!” or extending prayers and condolences to Saget’s family.
“Prayers go out to his family and friends for comfort and strength. Rest in peace Bob,” one person wrote on Facebook.
Saget was a versatile television personality and talent. He’s remembered as a stand-up comedian, actor, television host, director, and podcaster.
The famed Bob Saget is most well known for his role as beloved father Danny Tanner on the ABC sitcom Full House and its Netflix sequel Fuller House. He also hosted America’s Funniest Home Videos from 1989 to 1997.
